Day 1: Battery Charged; Brain Dead.
Last night I played a rough game of Trivial Pursuit--the Danish version. Besides the obvious language handicap, I also played with an American education handicap. Whether its right or wrong, America chooses not to stress the fundamentals necessary for Trivial Pursuit-ing. Not even one of those cute, mocking, pie-shaped game pieces came easily. I was quite flustered.
I robbed Day 1 of A Picture a Day & Something to Say of its glory. Instead I sat hunched in front of my computer googling & wikipedia-ing & BBC Country Profiling the crap outta the questions and subjects that
humiliated the crap outta me.
And it was too cold and windy to peruse outdoors...
My wooden drawing mannequin and I seemed one in the same. We both remembered we were in Denmark, thanks to the pennant-style Danish flag. We both felt guilty for not taking advantage of our Euro-location and exploring. We both longed to discuss the interesting rooftops--but both lacking the technical vocabulary (and a mouth-hole, in Mannequin's case) remained shamefully silent.
The Days and the Blogs must go on. I look to the future. Boxed wine tonight. A photographic hunt for Denmark's legendary porcupine-hedgehog creature tomorrow.
