Today there was sun. It is Friday, and a quasi-holiday. Christmas Beer Day. Referred to as, "J-Day". (J for Jule--not Jhaki--, the Danish word for Christmas)
A while back, the Danish brewery Tuborg introduced their specially brewed Christmas beer on the first Thursday of November at 8:59 pm. A designated amount of the beer poured after this auspicious time was complimentary.
Since then, the date has changed from Thursday to Friday and from the first week in November to the last week in October (so I am lucky enough to take part). I am told I will meet Santa and his helpers bearing gifts of Christmas beer on the streets of Århus, and will enjoy 'free beer' gimmicks at every bar.
