Day 41: Dog Treats & Party Flags
Yesterday was special. I had my own going away party with other estranged foreigners in Denmark. We decided to make it Danishly accurate so we needed Danish flag decorations. Even the least nationalistic of families would probably spread a Danish tablecloth; dangle strings of danish pennants; and stab the many cakes with Danish toothpick flags, just because.
The snack I've decorated in today's picture is something delicious and horrid. Flæskesvær-pig fat strips. They smell like dog treats and taste like heaven.
No judging--it's getting pretty sad around here, so I need all the comfort food I can get. Last night was little awkward, very sweet, and tragic. Here I sat with 3 other foreigners, in Denmark on similar conditions. Danish boyfriends, or husbands, etc. We all want/ed and accepted that there was/is good friend potential, but we met far too late. Such is the somber story of a nomad. I recognize potential friends, but haven't the time to secure the deal.
Time to pack.
