Day 111 & 112: Birthday Marathon

I call it a marathon because i feel my work schedule(s) have forced me to chop up my birthday and serve the compromised portions several times over 7-12 days.

Monday began "Birthday Week", with no intentional celebration. I taught my first ESL course to adult immigrants in S. Portland, which means I take the MAX line waaaaay down to 100 and somethingth street--late at night.

Tuesday I bought a bike--a birthday present to myself. I couldn't bear posting a less-than-impressive 1st portrait of my baby-bike (and it is pm so i couldn't utilize natural light--which is the preferred light, right daddy?)--so you'll just have to wait.

Casper and I attempted a birthday celebration last night, which was a success if 'celebration' means walking in the rain for nearly 2 hours in search of the perfect fish and chips.  It should be noted, that that sweet boy of mine did everything in his power to make my birthday peachy. . . 'course awesome concert tickets, a french press, a bike basket, (and more) make everything all better.

Today, my technical birthday, we had a glorious birthday breakfast; I took part of the morning off of bulb-work; my waitressing shift ended sooner than expected; I didn't get mugged on my way to the Lloyd Center Max station; and I am enjoying a sexy glass of red wine--contemplating an appearance at a co-worker, karaoke session.

And best part is--it's not over yet. I still have some US MAIL package-presents; It's still my birthday week; and, despite an unforgiving work schedule, guess what Fri-Sun are? Birthday Weekend. Happy Birthday to Me.

And a gift for you-- a few personal shots from my apartment. A peak inside the lair.
