Day 121: Could you give me a hand...ball?

It is beautifully blue and sunny and green and glorious here today--and yesterday. A sunny bike commute over the grand Hawthorne bridge and the sun-sparkling Willamette River makes for a great weekend start.  Though the last 12 blocks of extreme, uncompromising up hill pedaling on my 5 speed tends to pacify my enthusiasm.  Awkwardly lugging the difficult chunk of bike up 3 flights of stairs (broken elevator) is also grounding.

Yesterday I had the afternoon off. A most enjoyable time--especially on a Friday. It was sunny. I was free. Despite several circling helicopters, herds of police horses, and swarming cops-on-bikes (to intimidate protests) I was still at ease.  Happy Hour helped.

Later, I tried my hand at handball. Once again, I am in love. I haven't quite solved the beautiful puzzle, but I think it is an amusing brew of basketball, hockey, and soccer.  I can barely bend to tie my shoes and my 25-year-old butt cheeks are hard as rocks--but it was a most enjoyable friday.
